Tasting Notes
Sancerre in France may be Sauvignon Blanc’s spiritual home, but for modern vibrancy, Marlborough, New Zealand is the new ‘Sauvignon Central.’ Dr. John Forrest is a pioneer of Marlborough’s Golden Mile (the vineyard strip). Compared to some of his more high-profile neighbors, John doesn’t make a whole lot of wine. But, judging by the size of his trophy cabinet, those lucky enough to taste his wines find them incredibly appealing. Pale gold color. Intensely aromatic with enticing notes of passion fruit and gooseberry. Rich and racy with tropical fruit, citrus zest and a leafy freshness. Pure class. 13% Vol. Enjoy to 2012.
